National Sewing Month Exhibit by The American Sewing Guild of Tallahassee

National Sewing Month Exhibit by The American Sewing Guild of Tallahassee

The American Sewing Guild of Tallahassee will celebrate its 20th year in 2026. The group is part of the national organization and meets regularly at the Eastside Branch on the first Wednesday of each month to sew and encourage visitors to observe their work. Additionally, they gather on the second Tuesday at Leon County Extension, often dedicating this meeting to sewing items for others at no cost. These projects may include requests from assisted living facilities for adult bibs, among other items. Organizations such as Hospice and the Tallahassee Police Department have also requested items like bags, dolls, and cancer hats. The guild strives to give back to the community. The current Vice President of the Tallahassee chapter is serving in their second year in this role.

This exhibit will be on display from September 2nd through September 30th at the Eastside Branch Library.
