National Parks Tempestry Project
The National Parks Tempestry Project is personal and collaborative fiber art, environmental awareness, and climate activism via data representation all rolled into a sprawling community of friends, artists, crafters, teachers, scientists, activists, nature lovers, and more.
The Tempestries featured here represent daily high temperatures for Gulf Islands National Seashore in Florida and Point Reyes National Seashore in California. Each row represents a day in a particular year, and there are 365 rows in each one. The warmer the color (i.e. red), the higher the temperature on that day. By contrast, the cooler the color (i.e. blue), the colder the temperature on that day. Because each Tempestry represents a different year and geographic location, you can see changes across both time and space.
