Zen-Based Stress Reduction

Join the Leon County Public Library, in partnership with the Tallahassee Chan Center, for a transformative four-part program designed to help you personally experience relaxation, presence, and awareness amidst daily life. Drawing upon Zen practice and neuroscience, this course will guide you through techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, and yoga, all aimed at achieving peace and control, regardless of the source of stress.

Each of the 90-minute sessions will feature a specific focus, including progressive relaxation of the body, seated meditation on the breath, mindful eating, and Loving-Kindness meditation. The sessions will include both presentations and hands-on activities, with meditation cushions provided for those who wish to sit on the floor and chairs available for those who prefer not to. This program is an excellent way to kickstart your health and wellness journey in the new year.
