Plush Art & Pop Culture by Lane the Librarian

This exhibit was contributed by Lane the Librarian. She describes herself thusly: "My name is Lane. In my work, I am a librarian. In my life, I am a whimsy advocate. For joy purposes, I have cultivated a robust collection of textile works of art in the medium of plush. Can you tell that I loved The Velveteen Rabbit?"

She has in her possession an extensive collection of plush art works spanning 30 years of pop culture and toy history. Most are of are sentimental and aesthetic value while some are marketed as "collectible." These include Disney, Sanrio, Pokémon, Cartoon Network, and various other pop culture franchises. Some are factory produced pop culture affiliated merchandise, while others are handmade artifacts of independent imagination.
