Family Story Time (ages 0-5) @ Jane G. Sauls Ft. Braden Branch Library

Join us for Family Story Time featuring songs, rhymes, and stories with Ms. Deborah to help your child develop early literacy skills. This program is designed for children ages birth to five and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome!

Special "Show Way" Quilt Block Activity during Story Time  during February:  Build a paper quilt square based on the story Show Way by Jacqueline Woodson. Learn more about the role of quilts as maps for slaves seeking freedom, children will craft their own paper squares, which will be assembled to create a quilt showcased at the Leon County Main Library in March. These programs will help youth build motor skills and creative expression, while teaching them about the history of slavery.

Special Little Read Story Time February 12 will tie into a "Little Read" version of NEA Big Read programming featuring Beloved by Toni Morrison. Little Read Storytime will discuss topics like diversity, embracing personal heritage, and family.
